Once the district was formed, college officials promptly purchased 280 acres of farmland and maturing mixed hardwood forest just south of Rhinelander. The property also featured 3,000 feet of frontage on Lake Julia. Purchase price: $75,000.
About 1,500 students take credit classes each semester. About 10,000 people a year utilize some aspect of the college through Business and Community Education, the Nicolet Live! Arts and Speakers Series, Outdoor Adventure Series, Basic Education, Richard J. Brown Library, and the Art Gallery.
