Introduction To Psychology Online

Welcome to Introduction to Psychology Online! This letter confirms your registration for the Spring 2008 semester.

What materials will I need?

Each registered participant will need the following text materials:

1. Psychology Concepts and Connections (Brief Version), Eighth Edition by Spencer A. Rathus (ISBN Number 0-495-09274-6)
2. A Writer's Reference by Dianna Hacker, Fifth Edition (ISBN Number 0-312-41262-2) OR Rules for Writers by Dianna Hacker, Fifth Edition (ISBN Number 0-312-40685-1)

They are available for you at the Nicolet Bookstore in the Learning Resource Center or online at: http://www.nicoletbookstore.com/ .

This course will be delivered 100% online. There is no face to face requirement or meeting time for this course.

How do I access my online course?

INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHOLOGY ONLINE is being delivered using the Blackboard online platform. You will be able to login to your online course beginning on January 22, 2008 . Kristi Teed Thoreson, your instructor, will not be available until the first day of the semester.

To Login:

• Go to: http://natcbb.nicoletcollege.edu
• After you access the Blackboard sign-on screen, click on the Login link.
• Enter your Username (your 9 digit student ID number which is located on your admissions slip or your student ID Card) and your password (Also your student ID number) and select "login".
• Please change your password after you have logged in by navigating to "Tools", "Personal Information", "Change Password" on the left side of your screen. Make sure to remember your changed password.
• You will see the course(s) you are enrolled in on the right side of your screen.
• Select the course link of the course you would like to enter. On the next page you will see the course title and links to the different content areas of your course.

If you are having problems accessing your course or have questions about navigating within your Blackboard Course(s) you can contact technical support at 365-4409.

What should I do first?

When you access the course, always check for announcements from your instructor or the Blackboard Administrator then select the Syllabus button on the left side of your screen. Open and read the Syllabus information provided . You may want to print these documents and save them for future reference.

Next, select the Course Documents button on the left side of your screen. Look through all activities in this area to become familiar with the online course environment.

Please make sure you have Microsoft Word on your computer. Also, make sure that you have activated and are using your Nicolet email.

We start with the introductory learning plan the first week.
