The Bard at his funniest: every character in this fast-paced play is fair game for outrageous, slap-dash, screwball fun. There is poor Aegeon of Syracuse, condemned to die for trespassing into the enemy town of Ephesus. He's searching for his lost wife and son, one of two identical twins separated at birth.

This same twin also happens to be in Ephesus, searching for his brother. Add the Dromios – another set of identical twins – throw in a few wives, a maiden, a courtesan and greedy merchants, and you have delightful mayhem served up with Shakespeare's wonderful wit and word-play.
