Host & Facilitator Orientation

This session is for anyone who is an LIR host or facilitator, or for anyone wondering just what it takes to host or facilitate an LIR session. Brissee and Shores will discuss the responsibilities of these key LIR roles. In addition, all of the audio-visual equipment that we normally use will be available for demonstration and hands-on learning. Finally, you will learn what questions to ask when a presenter wishes to interface their own equipment with ours.

 

Creative Melodies

Two local craftsmen and musicians share their talents for an afternoon of their created melodies. Gustin makes Native American styled flutes based on the player’s anatomy and shows how each flute has its own personal song. Lintereur shares the beauty of his renaissance stringed instruments and the process used to make them and entertains with some favorite tunes (audience participation welcome).

 

Snowshoe at Treehaven

We’ll have a great lunch, then a guided tour through the wonderful landscape of winter at Treehaven. Our guide will point out the various signs of wildlife that thrive there at this time of the year. There is a $20 fee perperson for lunch and trail fee, to be paid with registration.

 

Holiday Acres Ski

Join Shores and Schneider for an easy ski at Holiday Acres. This is a flat trail that is quite suitable for beginners. If you don’t ski, bring your snowshoes and join us later at the Holiday Acres Lodge where we can share some snacks and good cheer.

 

Who Has Seen the Wind? Tornado Preparedness

Who has seen the wind? The Rudolph family of Merrill has. On April 10, 2011, a tornado destroyed their business, Allen Docks. Ted Rudolph shares pictures and stories of the destructive forces of this powerful tornado. Sladek, Lincoln County Director of Emergency Management, will discuss this storm and share tips on how to prepare for midwest tornados and storms. The month of April is Tornado Awareness month.
