The Nicolet College Admissions Office accepts applications for the Radiography Program for one week each year at the beginning of February. The next time we will be accepting applications for this program is Feb. 3 - Feb. 7, 2009.
1) Complete application form.
2) Submit $30.00 non-refundable application fee. Make check out to Lakeshore Technical College (LTC)
3) Official copy of high school transcript or high school equivalency (HSED).
4) Complete ACCUPLACER entrance exam or ACT

5) Meet with Admission counselor for interview
*Any student not meeting the above scores will be required to remediate through basic education and/or prep courses.

Testing for students is available Monday – Friday, 8:00am-1:30pm . There is no cost for this test. If you have more questions, please call 365-4448.
6) After completion of steps 1-5, you may make an appointment to meet with your program advisor. Please call 365-4493. Your program advisor will have all admission materials sent to LTC. After LTC receives all admission information, students will receive a packet of program specific information directing the steps.
**This program starts in January. Class/clinical meet days/evenings/weekends and summers.
What does a radiography technolgist do?
Diagnosing certain medical conditions or injuries often requires physicians to go beyond a routine physical examination; they need to see inside the body, so an x-ray of the affected area may be needed. Radiography Technologists (often referred to as Rad Tec 1), work with patients of all ages by taking these x-rays.
Do you have what it takes to become a radiography technologist?
Radiography Technologist are an integral part of the healthcare team. Individuals interested in this field of work must be able to work well with people of all ages, and be able to work under stress. Students must be in good physical conditions and be able to stand for long periods and lift at least 50 pounds without restrictions. If you are a detailed-oriented, caring, interested in anatomy and physiology, able to work under pressure, work with people and technology, this may be a career for you.
What is the program like at Nicolet College?
Nicolet Area Technical College (NATC) offers its Radiography in cooperation with Lakeshore Technical College (LTC). As a student in the radiography program you will attend live interactive TV classes sent from LTC to NATC for the core radiography courses. General education courses may be taken at Nicolet. Students are expected to attend clinical during evening, weekend and summer hours. Currently, our radiography classroom and lab is held at Peterson Health Care Center.
Nicolet College admits 4-5 students into the Radiography program every January. The Radiography program is accredited by The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. Admission is limited due to availability of clinical sites to meet accreditation standards.
What happens after graduation?
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the entry-level certification exam administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) and are often employed in such settings as clinics, hospitals or diagnostic imaging centers.
Are good jobs available?
This career is expecting an 18% growth in jobs over the next seven years statewide and even more nationwide. An annual median salary of $27,870 was reported by recent graduates (2003) of this program around the state.
