Tutoring and College Prep Services


A variety of programs are available to help students succeed academically. These include prep classes that prepare students for college courses, tutoring services to assist students already enrolled in college classes, and instructional academic support.

  • College preparation courses are designed to help recent high school graduates and returning adults prepare for success in college-level courses and programs.
  • Classroom prep courses in reading and study skills, English, are offered on the Rhinelander campus, online, and through ITV.
  • Accuplacer scores determine whether entering students need to take prep courses prior to beginning a program.
  • Students register through the Welcome Center before the semester begins.

  • Free tutoring services are available for current students
  • Access one-to-one peer tutoring
  • Attend study groups
  • Utilize the Drop-In Writing and Math Labs

 

Peer Tutors

  • Student tutors receive payment for providing tutoring services
  • Student tutors are offered tutor training opportunities
  • To apply to become a peer tutor, contact the Peer Tutoring Program

  • Students enrolled in credit courses can work individually with Academic Success instructors to strengthen their academic skills while they concurrently pursue career training.
  • Students may begin receiving instruction at anytime prior to the last three weeks of the semester.
