Celebrating its 97th anniversary of music ministry, the Mount Zion Gospel Choir from Madison brings its soul-filled high energy to the Nicolet College stage. Gospel music is a major force in American music, influencing many of our greatest rhythm and blues artists, and this Choir’s acclaimed performance will give you a clue why. Music director Leotha Stanley, with Mt. Zion for 33 years, plays piano and organ and writes music for the other instruments that accompany the Choir. Under Stanley’s direction, the Choir infuses jazz, blues and gospel harmonies to "raise the roof" in a captivating and spiritually transporting experience.
