Chemical dependency can interfere with a student's success. Whether a student is personally abusing chemicals or is affected by someone else's use, there is a great deal that a student can do about these problems.

In addition to learning about chemical dependency through the resources available at the Learning Resources Center, students are encouraged to contact Nicolet's AODA Specialist through the Student Development Center. All contacts are confidential and may be the first steps to improving a chemical dependency/abuse situation.

The AODA Specialist is also a resource person for reports and other class projects. Information regarding other wellness-related topics is also available from the AODA Specialist.

Someone you know turning 21 years old? Want them to know you value them making low-risk drinking decisions?
Brad McQue was a 21 year old junior at the University of Michigan who had 24 drinks on his 21st birthday. His friend brought him to his room, put a red clown nose on him as a badge for the night and wrote 24 on his forehead with a black marker. Three hours later, with a Blood Alcohol Level (BAL) of .44, Brad was dead. His family and friends have created this site.
