Nicolet College is committed to ensuring equal access to students with disabilities through assistive technology, and to that end, Disability Support Services provides:

- Two private testing and study rooms with accessible computer stations and software
- Note-taking keyboards - Alpha Smart 2000
- FM listening system for hearing impaired students
- Closed circuit television
- Magnification systems
- Ergonomic, adjustable chairs
- Franklin spell checkers with voice
- Talking calculators
- Adaptive keyboards and mouse systems
- Arm/wrist support systems for carpal tunnel syndrome
- Computers to borrow for home use
- TDD for the deaf

Assistive technology has been defined in legislation as follows:
Assistive technology is any item, piece of equipment, or product system, whether acquired commercially off the shelf, modified or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities.
Assistive technology service means any service that directly assists an individual with a disability in the selection, acquisition, or use of an assistive technology device, including evaluations, fitting, training, and technological assistance.
