Many students begin their college experience without knowing exactly what they want to study. The Student Development Center offers extensive career decision-making counseling for all students undecided about their future career.
The center utilizes a variety of tools to help the undecided student focus on a career choice. There are standardized assessment tools, computer-based assessments, one-to-one counseling, a library of career information (including the latest employment projections), and career planning exercises.
The goal of the center is to help the undecided student select a career appropriate to his/her values, traits, and interests and create a long-range plan to make the dream become a reality. Students who want to explore career decision making should make an appointment to see one of the staff members at the Student Development Center as early in the admission and registration process as possible.

The Student Development Center contains information to help students and district residents make informed career life decisions. Hundreds of occupational resources, ranging from current periodicals and government publications to corporate literature, describe general career fields as well as specific job data related to working conditions, educational requirements, employment outlook, and earning potential. The center contains "how to" career planning materials designed for use independently as well as with a counselor.
