Nicolet students entered a total of 40 photos in the NicPics 2009 Student life Photo Contest with sisters Hailey and Willow Lundborg claiming the four top places. A photo by Winnie Yeung was awarded fifth place and honorable mention honors went to Katie Kuderski and Benjamin Schuett.
"This was a challenging contest to judge because there so many great entries," said Terry Rutlin, communications specialist at Nicolet and one of the four judges. "Clearly there are many student photographers on the Nicolet campus with considerable talent."
For the winning photo Hailey will receive an iPod Touch. Other prizes include iTunes gift cards and movie tickets.
Photos were judged on how well they depicted student life at Nicolet and overall photo quality. Names of the photographers were intentionally left off the images during judging to ensure impartiality. Judges included Rutlin, graphic deisgner Jamie Pavlow, marketing coordinator Sondra Llanos, and graphic deisgn instructor Daniel Goscha, all of Nicolet.
Below are the top photos selected by the judges.
